“Vermentino is a grape variety of balance. It never imposes itself — it reveals.” Léa Rouyet, oenologist at Maison Gassier
At the foot of Sainte-Victoire Mountain, Vermentino finds a uniquely expressive terroir. Beneath the Provençal light, it captures what matters most: the freshness of cool nights, the tension of limestone soils, and the softness of the Mediterranean climate. White-fleshed fruits, citrus notes, delicate flowers… yet always that vibrant freshness, almost saline, which extends the palate and defines its origin. Vermentino is never ostentatious — it is simply true.
“It’s a grape variety that demands precision from us. Every choice, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, is immediately reflected in the wine.”
Three Cuvées, One Shared Pursuit of Excellence
Through its white wines, Maison Gassier explores the many facets of Vermentino. Each cuvée offers a different interpretation of the terroir, a variation on the same language.“We do not seek to transform Vermentino, but to accompany what it has to express.”

With the Gassier, Côtes de Provence, the expression is direct and luminous. The fruit reveals itself effortlessly through a fresh, balanced palate, lifted by notes of white peach and citrus. “This is the purest interpretation of the grape variety. A wine of immediate pleasure, yet always precise.”

Le Pas du Moine-350 explores another dimension — more taut, more mineral. Aging in concrete tanks preserves the integrity of the fruit while allowing the terroir to express itself fully. “Concrete acts as a revealer. It preserves the wine’s energy intact, without dressing it up.”

With the 946 aging cuvée, Vermentino gains breadth and depth. The work in demi-muids guides the wine toward greater complexity, texture, and structure. “Here, we seek a form of maturity in the grape variety — a more structured expression, yet always in balance. The wood should never dominate, only support.”
A Sainte-Victoire Signature
At the heart of every cuvée lies the same intention: to respect the fruit, listen to the terroir, and accompany the wine. Night harvesting preserves the brightness of the berries. Red clay and limestone soils leave their unmistakable imprint. Organic farming reflects a sincere relationship with the vine.
“Our role is to listen. Vermentino expresses its environment profoundly — it is up to us not to betray it.”
Through these three Côtes de Provence white wines, Vermentino becomes a faithful reflection of the Sainte-Victoire vineyard: a Provence that is both radiant and structured, intense and precise.
