Our Terroir

Our approach

Our unshakeable bond with our land drives us to commit ourselves to the Sainte-Victoire region each and every day.

Located at the foot of the majestic Montagne Sainte-Victoire, a designated Grand Site de France and Natura 2000 site since 2004, our estate blends seamlessly into this exceptional natural setting. Committed to preserving this unique ecosystem, we have restored biodiversity in the heart of our parcels by planting 300 metres of hedgerows and fruit-bearing plants, creating a temporary pond, adding rockeries in the estate’s scrubland, and installing nesting boxes for the protected Athena owls.

OUR COMMITMENT, SHARING THE FOUNDATION OF OUR WORK, BIODIVERSITY.

In April 2015, in partnership with the Grand Site Sainte-Victoire network, we naturally extended our commitment by opening the Sentier des Vignes (Vineyard Trail). This open-access educational trail offers an opportunity to explore the unique biodiversity of Sainte-Victoire, and to learn more about the importance and challenges of sustainable viticulture. It’s an invitation to discover, understand, and appreciate the delicate balances that nourish our vines and preserve the richness of this exceptional terroir.

"Each gesture matters, and has been repeated and improved for 5 generations, always respecting the terroirs of Provence and with a sole ambition in mind: craft great wines." Georges Gassier

OUR BELIEF, PRACTISING ORGANIC AGRICULTURE

Preserving the natural balance to reveal the pure authenticity and typicity of our terroir in every bottle.

The estate has been certified organic since 2016, affirming our commitment to preserving this exceptional terroir and cultivating our vines in harmony with nature. In the vineyard, Georges Gassier has adopted regenerative agriculture focused on two key goals: promoting rainwater infiltration into our soils and increasing organic matter to revitalise the land.

THREE PRACTICES HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED

• Partnering with the Sainte-Victoire Winegrowers Association, which allows us to reintroduce green waste collected from nearby villages back into our plots.

• Planting cover crops, such as cereals and legumes (peas), which help nourish and protect our soils.

• Collaborating with the DEPHY Farms network, a collective of winegrowers focused on optimising treatments against diseases such as powdery and downy mildew to reduce inputs across the region.

These actions have played a significant role in revitalising our soils, nourishing them in a more natural and sustainable way, while fostering the growth of local flora and fauna.
