A story of six generations

A story of six generations

The story of Maison Gassier is one of unwavering passion for the land, passed down from one generation to the next.

With Georges Gassier, soon to be joined by his son Jean, the fifth generation of winemaking artisans continues, inheriting the expertise shaped by their ancestors at the foot of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire. The history of Maison Gassier is one of interwoven innovation, heritage and passion. While his ancestors – Gustave, Léon, and Raymond – each left their mark on the Provençal wine landscape, it was Antoni Gassier, Georges’ father, who revitalised the 40-hectare vineyard when he discovered this special place and its distinctive energy in 1982.

A forward-thinking winemaker, he equipped his estate with all the modern resources of the time to craft exceptional wines, all while remaining deeply connected to the land. A few years later, in 1997, it was time for Antoni to pass on his expertise to his son Georges and ensure the continuation of the family legacy.

From one vintage to the next, father and son uncovered the true potential and wealth of their land.

In 2004, they chose to partner with a trusted ally who shared their values, joining forces with the Jeanjean family. Olivier Souvelain’s arrival at the helm of the estate in 2010 marked a pivotal turning point. Under his leadership, Maison Gassier rose to prominence among the finest wines of the Sainte-Victoire Valley, all while preserving the family spirit that defines its strength and authenticity.

Today, Georges Gassier is driven by the same passion and respect for the terroir as his father Antoni.

Authentic soil cultivation and innovation, in the vineyard and in the winery, are at the heart of his artisanal approach, which combines the techniques passed down from his father, Antoni, with the humility he now passes on to his son, Jean.
